Most of us aren't too excited about another "Polar Vortex", but members of the Golden "K" Kiwanis in Janesville may be a different breed. In part because they host a unique fundraiser featuring raffle guesses of when a truck will sink through the ice on Traxler Park lagoon. Golden "K" Kiwanis President Glen Disrude says the bitter cold this year has been good for the ice. He says in year's past people have gotten anxious waiting for the ice to get thick enough. This year that's not a problem. The truck is expected to be rolled out on the lagoon this Wednesday. This year's goal is $18,000, which is two grand more than last year. Tickets went on sale last week and will be available through the first week of February.
