A survey could help determine future growth for a local community. Orfordville’s new Economic Development Committee is getting a feel for what residents want. Close to 100 resident returned a survey intended to gauge where they’d like to see the village grow. Most favor investing to expand the village’s residential, industrial, and commercial areas. Ninety-percent expressed a desire for a grocery store, three-quarters want a more attractive downtown, about a third would appreciate better maintenance of streets and sidewalks, and half consider the Internet service poor. Committee officials say they plant to focus next on how to address these concerns.
