A local hospital’s commitment to safety is being recognized by a non-profit health care advocacy organization. The Leapfrog Group has given Saint Mary’s Janesville Hospital an “A” grade for patient safety. Saint Mary’s Vice President of Patient Care Services Laura Walczak considers the recognition validating. Leapfrog scores 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades “A” through “F” to more than 2500 hospitals twice per year. St. Mary’s is one of less than 800 to receive the “A” grade.
