Beloit Health System welcomes another generous family to help support the new heart hospital. The Packard Family announced Friday that they will sponsor the Packard Family Cardiology Clinic wing of the Hendricks Family Heart Hospital. Construction is currently underway at Beloit Hospital for a state-of-art heart hospital and James L. and Nancy J. Packard have generously gifted $1 million to this effort.

The Packard Family Cardiology Clinic wing will join the Hendricks Family Heart Hospital and share in the dedication to help create the best in cardiac care in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

Dr. Leo Egbujiobi, 25-year Interventional Cardiologist at Beloit Health System stated, “This new heart hospital will bring many families together, providing the best in cardiac care.  Jim and Nancy are good people and I am honored they have chosen the physician wing as their dedication opportunity.  Generosity is contagious and the Packard’s, along with the Hendricks family, have led the way!”

The timeline for the $13.8 million Hendricks Family Heart Hospital is set up in three phases.

Phase 1- construction began in late 2015 for the Packard Family Cardiology Clinic and Physician wing of the new Heart Hospital.

Phase 2- begins in mid-2016 with hybrid operating room (OR) and two cardiac catheterization labs. Phase 3- completed in 2017 with new critical care rooms, a private waiting area and family sleep area.

“The generosity of the Packard and Hendricks family is very humbling,” commented Tim McKevett, President and CEO for Beloit Health System. “The new Heart Hospital will give our physicians and staff the tools they need to provide the best care. Our community deserves it.”

The generosity of the Hendricks and Packard families are the cornerstones to the Ten Minutes to Save a Life campaign, the effort to raise up to $13.8 million for the new Hendricks Family Heart Hospital.  This campaign, the largest in the health system’s history is being co-chaired by Jim Packard and Greg Britton.  Their combined years of service to the hospital – Jim as a volunteer board member and Greg as the former President and CEO – is a testament to the care and compassion of all those involved with Beloit Health System.

Ten Minutes to Save a Life launches as a public campaign with over $6 million raised to date.  A community effort, this campaign will touch many lives and welcomes the generosity of family and friends.
