Limited inventory likely causing increase in Rock County median home prices

Limited inventory is likely behind an up-tick in median home prices in Rock County.

President of the Rock-Green Realtors Association Jeff Zuelke says people are still looking to buy limited inventory existing homes despite increases in new construction in the area.

The year-to-date median home price in Rock County is just shy of 135,000 dollars, which is up about 9 percent compared to last year.

Zuelke says the market still seems healthy, although he’s not so sure about the state as a whole, which is also experiencing increased home prices and tightening inventory.

He does admit that the current median price increases are not sustainable in the long-term, and that they’ll fall either of their own volition, or because of reduced demand if interest rates increase.
