A long time youth and family services center in Beloit will be closing its doors for good next week. As a piece of Beloit history prepares to close its doors, Merrill Community Center Director Regina Duncan hopes residents remember all the accomplishments of the last 27-years. Duncan continues to exude optimism saying she showed the building to a potential buyer considering reopening it is some fashion. The closing isn’t stopping Duncan from continuing to serve. Revenue shortfalls, and a failed merger proposal with the Stateline Family YMCA, prompted the board of director’s decision to close the doors for good next Tuesday.
