A major employer in the Janesville and Madison area is implementing a new minimum wage. SSM Health, which owns Saint Mary’s Janesville Hospital and Dean Clinic plans to have its lowest pay at $11 an hour. Officials say the wage increase will impact more than 1000 workers in Wisconsin, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Illinois. SSM Health CEO William Thompson says they are committed to providing strong market-based wages and benefits for all employees, with special consideration for those who are most economically vulnerable. The wage change goes into effect in January.
