Search continues for missing man

Deputies are continuing search efforts for Stuart Austin, 84, of Town of Beloit, who was last seen around noon on January 3 in Madison. According to friends and family, Mr. Austin avoided travelling on the Interstate and typically drove to Madison via Highways 51 and 213. Today, deputies are methodically driving these roadways, and connecting roadways, in an effort to locate Mr. Austin’s missing 2013 Lincoln MKS, white in color, with Wisconsin plates 308-FCL. A Wounded Warrior Project sticker is located on the rear of the Lincoln MKS as well.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking all property owners along Highways 51 and 213 to check their properties for the missing vehicle, including nearby property owners. If located, please call 911 immediately.

As search efforts continue, deputies will be driving slowly, as well as walking in these areas. Deputies will be driving marked and unmarked vehicles and a few deputies will be non-uniformed dressed. This information is being disseminated to mitigate citizen alarm due to an increased presence of uniformed and non-uniformed personnel in the areas identified.
