A gas grill on a back deck is being blamed for an early Wednesday morning house fire in Janesville. Battalion Chief Chris Lukas says firefighters were called tothe 200 block of South Pontiac Drive a little after 4:30 a.m. Lukas says the residents were using the grill Tuesday night, and may have failed to properly shut it down. Lukas says the fire caused “extensive damage” to the exterior rear of the house and extended into the attic. No one was reported hurt.
