One of the first signs of spring for many Janesville residents is the opening of the city compost and demolition landfill sites. City Operation’s Superintendent Kamron Neilson says they’ve been fielding calls since the unusually warm weather in February. Neilson says anticipation appears to be particularly high this year. She expects this coming weekend to be very busy as people are eager to start their spring clean-up. The compost and demolition site is open from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
