After six hours of public comments and discussion, the Janesville City Council votes six to one to remove the Monterey Dam.
Council member Doug Marklein says in the past the City has taken steps to save historic structures, but this one isn’t a good candidate.
Council Vice President Jens Jorgensen says most of the people he’s spoken with want to keep the dam.
Council member Jens Jorgensen was the sole no vote.
