The Janesville Police Department is facing a little added scrutiny this week. A team of assessors from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group arrived Tuesday to review all aspects of the department’s policies, procedures, management, operation, and support service. The review is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation. As part of the process. public comments regarding Janesville’s ability to meet the standards will be accepted by phond Wednesday afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00 at 373-3485, or in writing sent to WILEAG at P.O. Box 528 Hartland, WI 53029. Police Chief David Moore says the designation is a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence.
