Road construction season is about to begin in earnest on the Interstate in Rock County. The Department of Transportation says temporary widening on I-39/90 southbound, between the Shopiere Road interchange and the Illinois state line is slated to start next week. Crews will also remove and reconstruct the Stateline Road bridge over the Interstate near Beloit. The Interstate will remain open to two lanes in each direction during peak travel times. Nightly single lane closure are likely.
