It may be hard to start thinking about the impending school year in the middle of July, but for weeks the staff at Beloit Area Community Health Center have been doing just that.

On Wednesday, July 26 and Wednesday, August 23 from 4-8 p.m., they’ll host Back to School Night, open to all the community’s children. Each child will have access to school sports physicals or dental check-ups, covered by Medicaid or for the low flat fee of $25 per person. Additionally, each participant will receive a backpack with school supplies (while they last) and will be entered into raffles for prizes like bikes and waterpark passes.

It’s an event staff look forward to every year. “The best thing about our Back to School Night is working with children to young adults as they prepare themselves to return to school,” says BACHC Nurse Educator Thad Regenold. “Whether it be their senior year of a sport or their first day of kindergarten, a healthy start to a great school year starts with preventative exams and immunizations.”
