Local legislator fights increasing prescription prices

A local state representative is tackling the issue of ever escalating prescription drug prices. Democrat Deb Kolste of Janesville is introducing bills intended to protect consumers.  She says a poll conducted earlier this year by the Kaiser Family Foundation found 86% of people favor requiring drug companies to publicly release information on how prices are set.  The bills would force drug companies to notify the state and provide justification when prices increase more then 25-percent, and also prevent insurance companies from removing prescription drug coverage while a contract is in place.
