The unemployment rate dips dramatically in September.

The Department of Workforce Development reports the unemployment rate for September was a mere 4% in Beloit, down a full point from the month before. The rate for Janesville held steady from August to September at a slight 3.4%, but was down more than a full point from a year before. The latest report show these results are not unusual with the unemployment rate holding steady or declining in 30 of the state’s 32 larger cities. The statewide unemployment rate currently sits at 3%.
