A criminal complaint filed Wednesday in Rock County Court sheds more light on the circumstances surrounding a Janesville woman’s stabbing death.

21-year-old Julian Dewayne Collazo is charged with first degree intentional homicide in the death of 43-year-old Christine Scaccia-Lubeck.

Court documents indicate the the victim was still alive around 7:00 last Friday evening when she spoke with her mother on the phone and texted her sister that she was hanging out with a friend who was only 21.

Scaccia-Lubeck’s body was found around 4:30 the next afternoon after her mother stopped by to check on her.

Collazo and 23-year-old Nicole Kazar were arrested inside the victim’s stolen vehicle just hours later in Missouri.

Police in Missouri say they spoke with one of Collazo’s fellow inmates in jail who said that Collazo admitted that he was in jail for murder and that he stabbed a woman to prove to Kazar that he could protect her.

The two are currently being held on $50,000 bonds in Cape Girardeau, Missouri awaiting extradition.
