Theft from vehicles on the rise in Janesville

More guns may be getting into the hands of criminals in Janesville simply because motorists don’t lock their cars.  Police Chief David Moore tells Your Talk Show on WCLO the number of thefts from vehicles has been on the rise in recent months.  He adds over the last couple of years, since concealed carry, more people are also leaving their firearms in unlocked vehicles.  The easiest way to protect yourself, according to Moore, is simply lock your vehicle.  He says thieves tend not to want attention caused by breaking glass or spending a lot of time around a vehicle.  Police expect to respond to more than 400 reports of theft from vehicles this year alone.
