The state Division of Community Corrections has reversed its decision to move 53-year-old convicted sex offender Kevin W. Spaulding to the Lannon Stone Motel in Janesville. Some had expressed concern after the move was announced Thursday the placement was close to several schools. Janesville police say Spaulding will remain at Rock Valley Community Programs on West Sunny Lane in the town of Rock. Spaulding was convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child twice, in 1993 and 2007, and third-degree sexual assault in 1990.
