Beloit Fire Chief Brad Liggett appears pleased with the eight probationary firefighters and assistant chief he’s hiring. Liggett is replenishing the ranks following the end-of-the-year retirements of nine long time staff members. He adds, in his 29-years of service, he’s never seen so much experience retire at the same time. The Police and Fire Commission is expected to approve the recommendations during its meeting Monday afternoon.
