A pet food drive organized by the Janesville Veterinary Clinic does more than support impoverished cat and dog owners. Veterinary Assistant Becky Nelson says it helps people focus on their families’ needs while still caring for pets. Nelson says this year’s “Pounds of Love” pet food drive collected 13,061 pounds of pet food, more than double last year’s amount. The more than six-tons of food stuffs will now be used to help Friends of Noah’s pet C.A.F.E. program stock the shelves at five area food panties.
