The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says one man was injured and taken to the hospital Saturday after deputies responded to a shots-fired report at a home in the 800 block of West Happy Hollow Road in the town of Rock.  The man was not injured from a gunshot.  Sheriff’s Sergeant Aaron Burdick says the man hurt his hand while manipulating the rifle.  Deputies responded to a call of shots fired about 1:30 Saturday afternoon involving an elderly man in distress.  The man’s son, who also lives in the house, reported the man was armed.  The son was able to retrieve the firearm, but the man then locked himself in a room that was believed to have additional firearms.  Deputies tried and failed to make contact with the suspect, so the SWAT team deployed a robot into the house.  The SWAT team made contact with the man through the robot, and he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
