Classes through Blackhawk Technical College won’t be offered at its Beloit Center come this fall.  BTC President Tracy Pierner has decided to terminate the lease at the Eclipse Center.  Pierner reveals the facility is costing the college $350 thousand a year for the lease, staff, and utilities.  He appears confident a more efficient delivery model, with even more offerings, can be developed.   Pierner says to do so, a number of partnerships are being explored.   He says he’s looking forward to working with the new Beloit School Superintendent on the use of labs, dual-credit offerings, and even sharing space for night and summer courses.  Talks are also underway with the library, Brother Dutton, and others about working together.  The college hopes to have plans in place by May, because the lease ends August 31st.
