Members of the Beloit Youth Programming Collaborative are combining forces to present a summer activity registration fair on Saturday, May 5th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Beloit Memorial High School’s Barkin Arena. Representatives from the Beloit Public Library, Blackhawk Technical College, Boys and Girls Club, Community Action, City of Beloit, Hendricks CareerTek, School District of Beloit, the Stateline Family YMCA, UW-Rock County, and Welty Environmental Center will be present.

Parents and children will be able to sign-up and pay for such things as: day camps, reading and adventure clubs, summer school, sports lessons, field trips, and career prep workshops. These programs serve youth, ranging from 5-18 years of age. There will also be employment opportunities for individuals ages 15 and older.

“We originally got together to see what kinds of gaps we have in our summer programming for Stateline youth,” said Spencer Waite, City of Beloit Recreation Supervisor, “but we realized it would also be useful to plan a day to show families just how many opportunities there are for kids, and make it easy to compare and sign-up for activities all at once.”

There is no fee for entry. Whole families are encouraged to come and learn more about what is available and meet the providers in person. All programs can be paid for with cash and checks, and some providers will be able to process credit cards. For more information, contact Spencer Waite, Recreation Supervisor, City of Beloit, at (608) 364-2890.
