The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Rock River in Afton. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office reports the Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service forecasts the river at Lake Koshkonong will have minor flooding by Sunday. Other high water spots over the next week will include the Rock River at Newville, which is in the pre-flood stage, and at Afton which is currently approaching minor flooding. The sheriff’s office asks citizens to avoid traveling across high waters on roadways. All requests for sandbags and other concerns related to the current flood situation should be reported to the respective townships or the sheriff’s office.
