A 29-year-old Janesville man is facing charges after being accused of robbing a Janesville gas station. Jacob N. Schlegel was charged Monday in Rock County Court with robbery by threat of force and theft. Schlegel is accused of entering the Stop-N-Go in the 1600 block of East Racine Street last Thursday and demanded money. The criminal complaint says he put his hand into his hoodie, which to the clerk indicated he had a weapon and made her fearful. The criminal complaint says Schlegel asked a man for a ride, saying he was homeless, and admitted robbing the station. The man, who says he knew Schlegel from their younger years, called police. The tally from the robbery is little more than one-hundred dollars.
