HealthNet of Rock County announces it will be joining Giving Tuesday, an effort in Rock County and across the country to encourage charitable giving during the holiday season. Since Giving Tuesday began in 2012, the day has become a noted holiday day of giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are synonymous with holiday shopping. This year’s Giving Tuesday will be held on Tuesday, December 1st.

HealthNet is the first organization from Rock County to announce their participation publicly for the campaign this year. Ian Hedges, Executive Director of HealthNet, states that while giving any time of the year is important, donations on Giving Tuesday are incredibly important. “With many of our patients facing uncertainty during the holiday season, donated dollars are critically important to ensure they can have peace of mind and obtain much-needed medical and dental services.”

HealthNet is partnering with St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital for this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign. St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital President Kerry Swanson says the hospital is pleased to provide up to a $2,500 match for the first $2,500 raised on Tuesday to put toward services offered at HealthNet’s dental clinic.

“St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital is guided by a mission to provide exceptional health care services,” said Kerry Swanson, President of St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. “We are proud to support HealthNet, a wonderful community partner who shares our common values of respect and compassion in providing quality care for our Rock County neighbors in need.”
