The Janesville Fire Department is gathering feedback from the public regarding the site of the future Central Fire Station.
On March 10th, the City Council will potentially determine the site of the future central fire station which will replace the station currently in use. The current central fire station is 57 years old and no longer meets the operational needs of the Janesville Fire Department. Both sites that are being considered are within the near vicinity of the current station.
In advance of the Council’s decision, the City of Janesville, with design consultant Five Bugles, will hold a public information meeting on Wednesday, February 26, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Fire Station #1, 303 Milton Avenue, to share information regarding the proposed project and solicit community feedback. Five Bugles will make a brief presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Neighboring property owners that may be affected by the construction of a new station have been personally invited to attend the meeting. All members of the public are also welcome and encouraged to attend.
