With the first snowstorm of the season predicted this weekend, City of Janesville Operations Director John Whitcomb is busy taking care of last minute operations.  He says most equipment is ready, except for trucks used for other operations.  He says even those will be repurposed over the next day.  Whitcomb says the first storm of the season is always a challenge, and this one is no exception.  He says anywhere from two to ten inches are being predicted, and the temperatures are expected to be well above freezing next week.  He says in the spring they might consider not plowing snow that might melt in a day or two, but this time of year it's too much of a risk.  He says sometimes weather forecasts are wrong.
