Humane Society runs out of dogs

For the first time anyone can remember, the Rock County Humane Society has no dogs available for adoption. Assistant Executive Director Jim Hurley attributes the Humane Society's current success to its own institutional development, as well as extensive cooperation with other rescues groups. He says a recent event with other pet shelters and rescue groups like the Dane County Humane Society and Friends of Noah, helped find homes for more than 300 animals. Typically the Humane Society has more than a dozen dogs. If you want a dog, not to worry says Hurley, more will be available soon. Until then he says they always have plenty of cats.
