A local legislator wants to assist soon to be laid-off workers at a Whitewater employer. More than 60 workers will be losing their jobs at the beginning of November as HyPro plans to consolidate its operations. Representative Andy Jorgensen of Milton says his heart goes out ot he families facing a challenging new reality. Jorgesen says he can help with guestions about unemployment benefits, educational opportunities, or job search resources. The Democrat goes on to point a finger at Republicans for the state’s overall business climate. He says the corporate tax breaks Republicans have pushed for years through W-E-D-C aren’t working, and that’s painfully illustrated by the major job losses to manufacturing in Wisconsin.
