The Fall of Michigan State

I've been hearing a lot from Big 10 basketball fans,Badger fans mostly, about how happy they are about the "fall from grace" by the Michigan State men's basketball team. The Spartans have lost 3 straight, most recently to in-state rival Michigan. Prior to the losing streak, they had to pull "Sparty" out of their hat to beat Wisconsin. MSU is 12-8 and will drop from the Top 25 polls after their loss to the Wolverines Thursday. This is from a team that was the pre-season number 2 behind defending national champion Duke, Coach Tom Izzo was gearing for another run to the Final Four with his aggressive schedule during the non-conference season. He was hoping it would get 'em ready for the Big 10 wars and the NCAA tournament. Problems off the court led to the suspension of Milwaukee native Kory Lucious for the season this week. Injuries have hurt as well. Kailin Lucas just doesn't have the explosiveness he had before the knee injury last season. It just happens to be MSU's turn. Seems every year there is one powerhouse program that dissapoints. North Carolina comes to mind from last year. While I am not wishing any bad things happening the remainder of this year and for years down the road for the Badger basketball team. Everybody does have their turn,so enjoy the good times.
