Janesville police hope the arrest of one woman will serve as a warning to others.
Don't make fake 911 calls.
Tuesday night at about 8:30 p.m. Janesville Police arrested 44-year-old Anna Farmer at her residence on the 1200 block of Anthony Avenue after narrowing her location down using GPS.
Officers had been receiving 911 hang-up calls, and false reports of a person needing help from the same deactivated cell phone for two days straight, draining a considerable amount of resources.
Farmer had the cell phone in her possession when officers arrested her. She's currently being held at the Rock County Jail on suspicion of making 39 false 911 calls.
