Authorities identify the woman who died after they pulled her from the Rock River Sunday morning.
Police say the body of 68-year-old Shirley Gorman was spotted by a couple walking near the Highway 11 bridge a little after 10:30 (Sunday) morning.
Gorman was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Shortly after she was found in the water, a missing person's report was filed by someone describing her as distraught and whereabouts unknown since about 7:00 in the morning.
Police did find her car at the River's Edge Bowl and are investigating if that's where she entered the water.
