Congressman Paul is on a top 50 list

WCLO's Steve Benton has a "tongue in cheek" conversation with Congressman Paul Ryan
WASHINGTON Janesville native, Congressman Paul Ryan, is known for fiscal conservatism and pushing issues like social security reform. Ryan is considered a rising star in Washington, but the brightness of that star was revealed this week when he was listed as one of the top 50 most beautiful people on Capital Hill, in the Washington based publication "The Hill."
Ryan says he's only trying to impress one person, his wife Janna. Ryan says he doesn't think his stand on issues got him on the list, and it certainly wasn't his clothes, which he says he buys "off the rack" in Milwaukee.
The bottom line according to Ryan is,... there is no bottom line. At the end of the day, Ryan says, that and $1.50, will get you a cup of coffee.
Congressman Paul Ryan, who is very serious about the real issues on capital hill, was very gracious in conducting this "not so serious" interview with the WCLO News Radio 1230 News Department.

Please tell me how much is a liveable minimum wage?
By "reproductive rights" do you mean abortion on demand at anytime during gestation?, is this a euphimism for reproductive rights?
Other worker rights? What "rights" specifically? Or is this another platitude?
What personnel freedoms are denied to hetero or homosexuals? Specifically which freedoms in the Bill of Rights are you referring to? Perhaps another platitude?
What does a critical thinking cirriculum consist of? Do the teachers unions support this? And if by legislative fiat Paul Ryan could change this, are you willing to hold teachers accountable to teaching children critical thinking skills? Is the ability to read and write critical thinking skills? How about mathimatical skills? Or perhaps what you really want is more money into government schools and less choice?
Wire tapping? Are you referring to the same domestic programs initiated by Bill Clinton and supported by Nancy Pelosi? Do you see balck helicopters outside?
Military expenditures? I think the US operates an all volunteer military. What is your stance on domestic welfare spending Lets look at both sides of the ledger.
You forgot the holy grail of progess on the road to socialism: socialized medicine!

kiowamohican: "less government" ... "more personal freedom"? You're talking about Rep. Paul Ryan?!?!? The same Ryan who consistently votes against the rights of women to determine their own reproductive freedom? Who consistenly votes against a liveable minimum wage and other worker rights? The Ryan who would codify discrimination through legislation when simple equal (NOT special) rights and "personal freedom" are denied to the gay and lesbian population? The Ryan who votes against teaching critical thinking in our schools but believes in the (failed) No Child Left Behind program? Just whose personal freedoms is he supporting with less government? It appears his "principles" preserving "freedom" and "less government" apply only to big business and are reserved for his wealthy friends. If you look at his voting records, he certainly doesn't believe in less government when it comes to wire tapping, "security" measures, military expenditures and certainly NOT less government invading the bedrooms and work places of his constituents.

Congrats to Paul Ryan!!
It's good to see that some who go to Washington still believe in less government, lower taxes, more personal freedom, and don't become part of the elitist/big government crowd. To bad he is only one of a handful on the hill who adhere to these strong principals.
