The Milton Education Association hopes to return to negotiations with the school board.

MEA President Shelly Kress says since there haven't been any face-to-face meetings, there isn't a major sticking point now, except that the school board won't meet with MEA negotiators. She says the last meeting occurred in December. She says she doesn't have a clear idea why the two sides aren't meeting, but would assume salary is a sticking point since that is the highest cost in negotiations. She says the district has mentioned the two sides are far apart. Kress says the school board has filed for arbitration.

The 2007-2009 contract hasn't yet been settled.
