Sheriff's Office to hand out awards

The Rock County Sheriff's Office is planning it's first annual awards ceremony.
The idea is to recognize excellence in law enforcement and public service. Lieutenant Russ Steeber says Sheriff Bob Spoden is expanding on a previous idea. Steeber says the idea is to reward positive public effort. The awards planned for Wednesday night's ceremony are intended to illustrate the highest tradition of service. They include Medals of Valor, lifesaving, and Deputy of the Year. The goal is to help inspire a level of professionalism.
The ceremony is set for 6:00 O'clock in the county court house.
