WCLO's Steve Benton reports on a Wednesday morning basement fire in Janesville

— A smoky basement fire caused an estimated $15,000 damage to a Janesville duplex.

Firefighters were called out around 5:30 Wednesday morning to 4301 East Racine Street.

Shift Commander Bill Ruchti says they've been able to pinpoint the origin of the fire to a basement bathroom, but don't know the exact cause.

All residents were able to exit the dwelling safely and no injuries are reported.
