Chances are if you've recently received a notice about a delinquent water account from the City of Janesville, you can disregard it.

Administrative Analyst Peter Riggs says an addressing error occurred during the mailing of the notices. Some of the 4,500 notices were sent to the wrong property owner. The city is canceling the incorrect notices and sending a new batch to the appropriate property owners.

The notices are sent every spring to alert property owners of delinquent charges on their water utility accounts.

Visit the city website for more information about the notices.
