WCLO's Steve Benton reports on an award for Carrie Kulinski

— A Janesville School District employee is getting statewide recognition.

Carrie Kulinski, ATODA Coordinator, is the recipient of the Wisconsin Community Leadership Award.

Kulinski's supervisor, District Coordinator of Student Services, Marge Hallenbeck, says Kulinski has proven her value to the district and community in a number of ways. Kulinski has written a curriculum based on ATODA issues and also started a charter school for students recovering from substance abuse. Kulinski also serves on a statewide committee through the Department of Public Instruction that advises other districts on how to implement programs to reduce substance abuse by students.

The award is given by Wisconsin Rural Partners Inc.
