Among the Memorial Day festivities Monday, Beloit is holding a stateline area parade starting at 9am.

Committee spokesman Ron Shaw says at a ceremony later, the Beloit Memorial High School JROTC will read the Logan's Order of the Day, which is the military order that originally designated Memorial Day. Shaw says there are five sections in the parade, and more than 1,300 people participating in the parade.

In Janesville, a parade starts at 11 at the corner of High and Dodge Streets, followed by a ceremony at noon in Lower Courthouse Park.
