More Safe training planned

WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on school district self defense classes

Janesville police plan to expand "SAFE" training in the school district.

Safe stands for self defense, awareness, familiarization, and exchange. Sergeant Brian Donohoue says the classes were so popular, they'll likely be expanded. Donohoue says during the first sections, the participants were very enthusiastic. Donohoue has great confidence older teen age girls, and women can learn from the course. Word is, at least one class participant has already put these new skills to use.

The next set of classes is planned for January and February.
