Beloit robbery suspect

— Beloit police are hoping very good images of an armed robbery suspect help solve the case quickly.

Deputy Police Chief, Norm Jacobs, says the series of images taken at a robbery scene in Beloit Wednesday afternoon are very clear. He says he wishes all businesses would take the time to install high quality equipment like that.

The subject in the image is suspected of robbing the National Cash Advance store in Beloit. Police have already looked at the images and the suspect is not a recent, or known local resident.

A series of images can be found on the city of Beloit's website under the police department heading. An image also accompanies this story and any updates. Anyone recognizing the suspect is asked to call the Beloit police department at 364-6800 or Crime Stoppers at 362-7463.

It is not to help the police. If that were the case I would just call them. The idea is for someone to remember "hey I thought I saw a hat like that when I was at the health club,or ball game" Memory joggers, or subtle observations that may go overlooked. The idea is to catch this guy. I thank you for comparing me to one of the most successful icons of all time though. I'll tell the mischievous clan hello for you when I call them.

Guys are fussy about how their hats fit on their heads. If it is his hat, then he is likely right handed due to the wear marks from adjusting the hat with the right side of the rim. If the hat is his, then he may work in an outdoor environment based on the salts in a sweaty hand fading the cotton to a orange-colored hue of the wear marks. I notice that after the picture is blown up a bit there appear to be stains on his pants and possibly his shirt. He also has one visible in the side shot by his right, front pocket. May indicate type of employment that would have dirty hands repetitive reaching for a utility knife or pen. They are a light tan or brown color that could indicate an white oil or soil stain. They could also be distortion from the lens. Notice no gloves are visible in any of the pictures. If he was in and out in 4 minutes, he knew his target. He also knew what he was doing. Unless a witness held the door on the way out, chances are likely he touched the door going inside. He is also wearing 2 shirts with one being a short v-neck. He looks to have a thin dark colored, thin necklace visible in the last picture.

From the looks of it, the hat logo is a weight lifting logo. Though not an exact match, the logo of the American Strongman Competition and Egg Whites International are close. Maybe someone will remember a logo like this? It is a silhouette of the back of a weight lifters back and arms doing a dumbbell press. This is a pair of dumbbells hoisted close together above the head. Also visible in the picture is a reflection of the front door of the store. It appears as if this person may have a slight or repaired harelip. The glasses may be a distraction, or they may be a dead giveaway if they are really his.
