WCLO's Beth Wheelock reports on the demolition of a downtown building.

It might soon be easier to find parking in downtown Janesville after the demolition of 121 East Court Street.

City Development Specialist Al Hulick says the majority of the prep work is done for the demolition of the city-owned building. He says the sewer, water and utilities are disconnected, and an outside firm has conducted an asbestos evaluation. Demolition is scheduled for early November to early December, depending on how long it takes for the asbestos results to come back and the abatement process.

Scroll down for an audio feature about the demolition project.

I lived in that building over 10 years ago. It should have been demolished a long time ago. I think it is a great idea to add more parking - especially that close to the court house. Finding parking in that area can be very difficult.
