MILTON TOWNSHIP — Three candidates—two incumbents and one challenger—are running for two spots on the Milton Town Board.

Elizabeth (Beth) A. Drew

Address: 8215 N. Ridge Trail, Milton.

Age: 46

Job: Owner/director of Small Wonders Childcare

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing from Edgewood College, Madison, 1986.

Community service: Janesville Wesleyan Church board; Milton Area Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism; Exchange Club of Greater Janesville Advisory Board; Milton 4-H leader.

Elected posts: None

Major campaign issue: "If elected, I plan to offer a positive, balanced voice for our town of Milton residents."

Sue Gavigan (I)

Address: 3328 E. County N, Milton.

Age: 59

Job: Culver's

Education: Milton High School graduate, 1967; earned certification as a home health aide from Blackhawk Technical College.

Community service: St. Mary's Parish Council and Justice and Peace Committee, Meals on Wheels, Milton Food Pantry, high school football concession stand.

Elected posts: Milton Town Board supervisor, 2007-09.

Major campaign issue: "The biggest challenge I will have as a board member will be the budget. With taxpayers struggling to deal with the depressed economy, it is important the board stay within levy limits. I feel certain with logical and creative planning this can be accomplished. I promise to keep the taxpayers my top priority."

Job: Rock County Public Works Department

Education: Bachelor of science from University of Iowa, 2004; Milton High School graduate, 1999.

Community service: Helped with 2008 flood cleanup.

Major campaign issue: "Getting the most results for our town money given today's economic issues so we can provide the best value for our taxpayers. Also we need to finalize the town's Smart Growth plan and our boundary agreement with the city of Milton."
