Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden appears to have some faith in statewide crackdowns on drunken driving, like the one starting Friday.

Spoden says the number of fatal and serious injury accidents were down last year. He says he hopes that means the message is getting out that Rock County doesn't tolerate drunk driving. He says the sheriff's office wants people to have a good time, but do it safely.

The latest effort, "Drunk Driving - Over the Limit - Under Arrest" will last through the Labor Day weekend.
