WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on Rock County Sheriff's appointment to the Department of Corrections Mental Health Workgroup
The number of prisoners in the Rock County Jail, with mental health issues, may be growing.
Sheriff Robert Spoden says budget cuts among social service agencies are reducing the amount of help available in the community. The concern is both for the prisoner in the jail setting, and after release back into society.
Spoden has been appointed to serve on the Department of Corrections Mental Health Workgroup to help address the issue statewide.
