Local law enforcement to receive Safe Neighborhoods grant
A grant should help local law enforcement agencies reduce gang and gun crime.
The Rock County Sheriff's Office, Beloit Police Department and Janesville Police Department are sharing the more than $34,000 Project Safe Neighborhoods grant. The Sheriff's Office will receive forty percent, while the police departments split the remaining sixty percent. The money will be used to fund enforcement projects directed at gang and gun crime. The departments will purchase a laptop, related software and a digital camera.
