WCLO's Steve Benton reports Janesville police have a new perspective on marijuana grow operations in Janesville
A 43-year-old Janesville man is facing drug charges after police say they found a marijuana growing operation.
Police used a search warrant to enter a house at 309 East Racine Street around 7:30 Monday night and they say they found the elaborate growing and seed development system in the basement.
They also confiscated about 55 plants with a street value of $27,500.
Paige "Sam" Chambers was arrested for manufacturing marijuana plants, running a drug house and possession of paraphernalia.
Police say their investigation shows Chambers moved to Janesville from Rockford last May. He has an extensive criminal record in Illinois.
Police say they have found no links to either of the other two marijuana growing operations discovered in Janesville earlier this month.
