A new scam uses a Janesville-based business' name.

The Wisconsin Better Business Bureau warns of a new mystery shopping scam that uses the Woodman's Markets name. Consumers receive what appears to be a letter with a job offer from Woodman's. The letter comes with a check for more than $3,000. The recipient is told to deposit the check, then test customer service at Western Union by wiring part of it.

The BBB says the check is a fake and consumers will be responsible for paying back the amount they withdrew against the deposited check.

The BBB has been contacted by more than 40 consumers about the scam.
